Leading Lady was founded in 1939 by Frank G. Farino, who worked at a Cleveland bra company, but found himself out of a job when it closed the doors. Equipped with two sewing machines and a handful of business contacts, Farino began making his bras. He faced a large problem when the war led to a shortage of materials to create lingerie. Farino realized maternity and nursing bras were classified as medical items that were necessary in the world. Leading Lady has become one of the country's most successful intimate apparel manufacturers. It remains a family company with the same vision as Frank had in mind many decades ago, the vision to help women find their perfect bras.

Leading Lady also uses the traditional band measuring system when 3"-4" is added to your underband.  So, if you measure 39" in the underband, you are a 42 band size.  The A cups in this brand are also independentlly graded to have a wider base and less projection than other cup sizes.
