Robin Piccone launched her signature luxury resort and cruise swimwear line in 1992 after noticing a decided lack of fashionable inspiration in modern swimwear. Concentrating on more contemporary, flattering, wearable styles, she developed ways to enhance a woman's natural curves rather than emphasizing just sexy bareness. Ms. Piccone had already created a swim revolution with the ingenious use of surfer-inspired neoprene for Body Glove swimwear in 1986, and had garnered praise, winning the California Designer of the Year award at that time. Two of her sleek neoprene swimsuits are in the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's permanent collections. She is a member of CFDA and has received numerous awards and honors. The City of Hope Spirit of Life Award was given to her for her fundraising efforts for pediatric AIDS research, and she is a mentor for Otis College of Art and Design.
All Robin Piccone designs are created at her Los Angeles design studio, beginning with sketches, gorgeous fabrics, trims and colors for each season. The Piccone team of designers coordinates with North American fabric mills to produce almost all of their exclusive fabrics. In-house seamstresses construct each sample, which is carefully reviewed and tried on various body types to deliver that fabulous Robin Piccone fit.
